Air intake adjustment (closed)
The reason I removed the Wisteria was because of a flock of birds (sparrows estimated number at 200 to 300) started roosting and nesting in the Wisteria. We had to hose down the patio every day to remove the accumulated bird droppings that occurred overnight. And to there was the problem of leaves that it sheds all season that we had to clean up. In the fall there was usually 25 to 30 55 gallon plastic sacks we filled. Basically it was very beautiful to look at the very hard to maintain.
So we decided to put a roof on it to eliminate the mess and give us an all weather patio to enjoy. I had to wait until after income tax return to pay for it and that worked out pretty good timewise. One other note, after I cut the Wisteria down and had it piled up in the back of the yard the birds continued roosting in it until I hauled off to the dump. One other thing the day I cut it down and the birds came in to roost that night they came in as a flock and they sure were confused as where to land.

It took me a little over two weeks to frame this out. I boxed in anywhere a bird or wasps could nest. I ordered the metal yesterday and it will take about two weeks for delivery, in the meantime I'm kicking back for a while. Although I did all this so far by myself except for a couple of hours that my oldest son help me with, I'm going to give a roofing party because I don't think I will be able to handle the 29 foot sheets by myself, beer will be served "after" all the work is done :-).
Today Friday, May 1, 2009 my oldest son Steve and I put a cover on. We started about 7:30 in the morning and wrapped it up about a quarter to 11:00. The following pictures are of the finished job after we cleaned up and put everything back according to She Who Must Be Obeyed :-).
